Indoor sport may, or may not, resume with the introduction of Stage 3 restrictions on July 10. In the likely event that indoor sport will resume, fixtures for July 15 have been put on the Tableland Futsal website. Whenever Futsal resumes, we will complete the Summer season with two Junior games (a ‘catch-up’ Under 11 game and Under 13) and Round 17 for Mens and Mixed. Semis and Grand finals will then follow over the next two weeks as normal.. Various COVID-19 related measures will be introduced but more on that when a start date is certain. All going well, Futsal will recommence for a short non-competitive 7 week Winter season on August 3rd for Juniors and August 5th for Mixed and Mens.
Meanwhile, “Football Queensland continues to work alongside Football Federation Australia and in consultation with the state and federal government and medical authorities to ensure our game can recommence as soon as possible,” FQ CEO Robert Cavallucci said.
“We are continuing to develop the set of ‘Return to Football in Queensland’ guidelines to ensure any resumption of football activity is undertaken in the safest way possible, and remain committed to facilitating a return to football as soon as we can.
“In the meantime, FQ urges all members of the Queensland football community to download the COVIDSafe app and continue to practise social distancing so that we are well prepared for the recommencement of our game as soon as possible.”
